Casa Tortuga has donated a 8 day 7 night stay to the Centro Ecologico Akumal’s Sixth Annual Festival. The silent auction will be held on the opening day- February 24th- Be sure to get there early for your chance to bid a week at Casa Tortuga doors open at 10 am!
100% of all money raised will go directly to CEA’s conservation programs to conserve and manage Akumal’s unique ecology, its: water, beaches, coral reefs, mangrove jungles, and of course endangered sea turtles.

Mark your calendars! Centro Ecologico Akumal’s Sixth Annual
Festival runs from February 24 through March 3. Considered by
many to be the season’s premier social event, it’s not to be missed.
The Festival begins on Thursday 24th with a Silent Auction. Doors
open at 10 a.m. with winners announced at 9. A sunset wine and
cheese reception with live music will take place on the beach at 6:30.
This one-day event is the only time to participate in the auction and it
is recommended that you get there early.
When you are ready to go another gear lower, get closer to nature and really chill out, then take a 50 minute bus ride farther south from Playa, to Tulum. Known for its Mayan ruins overlooking the ocean, Tulum has attracted backpackers for more than 15 years. Tourism has steadily grown with all budgets now catered for, while still retaining the low-key feeling of a relaxed town by the beach.

The opportunities for day trips from Casa Tortuga are limited only by one’s imagination—Mayan ruins, wildlife sanctuaries, wet and dry caves, cenotes, shopping venues, deep sea fishing villages, scuba diving heaven, snorkeling sites, premier golf courses, theme parks and wide, sandy beaches are only some of the few activities in that require a day trip.
