One of the best things about Casa Tortuga is the private beach. Nesteled at the end of the bay offering plenty, it is located on two plots of land allowing plenty of room to dig your toes in the sand! You can swing in the shade under the palapa in a homemade hammock, our sunbathe on lounge chair.
A reef barrier protects Soliman Bay from waves, and makes for some of the regions best snorkeling. The sand is fine to coarse, and stretches down the Bay. You can take out Casa Tortuga’s kayaks out to the edge of the bay, a word of caution past the barrier reef the water gets rougher. The bay is also a nesting ground for endangered turtles, and home to conches!

Tulum Beach is a 10 minute drive from Casa Tortuga. The Mayan Ruins of Tulum overlook the beach. There are several beachfront hotels, and restaurants along the beach that offer chair rentals. It is has white sand, small waves, and very few rocks. It is an excellent place for lounging, and swimming beach.
The Sian Kaan Bioshpere is a 1.3 million acre nature reserve. The public beaches are left unmaintained and theCentro Ecologico Sian Ka’an promotes the education of sustainable development in sensitive tropical ecosystems.
